The University of Sydney (USYD, or Sydney Uni as it is known informally) is an Australian public research
university based in Sydney, Australia. It is Australia’s first university and is regarded as one of the world’s
leading universities, having been established in 1850. The university is one of the six sandstone
universities in Australia.
The British Daily Telegraph and the American Huffington Post have ranked its campus, which
encompasses the inner-city suburbs of Camperdown and Darlington, among the top ten most beautiful
universities in the world. The university offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees across its eight
academic faculties and university schools.
The university was ranked in the top 25 universities in the world for academic reputation, as well as the
top 5 in the world and first in Australia for graduate employability, according to the QS World University
Rankings. It was one of the first universities in the world to accept students solely based on academic
merit, and it was also one of the first to admit women on an equal footing with men.
International candidates are invited to apply for the Vice-international Chancellor’s scholarship, which is
focused on academic achievement and will begin in August 2021. Scholarship applications are due by
June 15, 2021.

during the first year of commencement and not renewable for the following years)

For the academic year 2021/2022, the academic funding scheme will assist high-achieving foreign
students who wish to undertake degree coursework studies at the University of Sydney in Australia.
The University of Sydney will offer scholarship through its VCIS four scholarship amounts based on your
ranking against the selection criteria:
- $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
- $20,000 payable for one semester
- $10,000 payable for one semester
- $5,000 payable for one semester
- The availability of some amounts may be limited to specified areas.
